A completely handmade bag, only one artisan works on it, from start to finish. But not every artisan hired by the company gets to work on the Birkins or Kellys - the ones who do are required to undergo three to four years of training before they can work on them.
This new Birkin 25 with palladium-plated hardware, was made in 2018 and bears the ‘C’ date stamp. A limited edition issue from the maison’s Fall/Winter 2018 Officier Collection, this Birkin is not your typical beauty. Its exterior and base is fashioned from a deep Bleu Nuit coloured Togo leather. It sports two Vert Cypress in leather stripes on the front in Swift leather. Like all Birkins, it has a Chevre leather lining on its interior. This mini-sized beauty is a rare find in the market, and the bags of this size are usually reserved for the VIP customers of Hermes. This bag comes with a clochette, lock, keys, dust bag, raincoat, care card, box and a copy of the original receipt.
